S.T.E.A.M.

Our S.T.E.A.M curriculum utilizes the project-based inquire learning (PBIL) approach in order to enhance conceptual understanding, critical thinking, scientific reasoning and problem solving. Each project is carefully planned to be age appropriate, hands on, and either individually or team lead.

Early Childhood

Our S.T.E.A.M curriculum covers the exploration of shapes, both 2D and 3D as building blocks and connectors. Children will discover the use of shapes in architecture and use them to build their own structures, art projects and unique creations. We also explore basic science units about plants and living and non-living things.

K-2nd Grades

Our S.T.E.A.M. curriculum builds upon the knowledge of shapes and focuses in applying the design process to simple engineering projects. Some examples of engineering includes building bridges, arches, ladders and small structures. We also introduce basic block coding, both manual and app based and robotics.

3rd & 4th Grades

Our focus remains design process with an emphasis in engineering, integrating artistic elements. We challenge students to design different artifacts, which will serve as a portfolio of their S.T.E.A.M. education at the end of the school year. Our curriculum also covers exploration of electricity and magnetism. Another vital part of our curriculum is coding and robotics. We use block coding and learn how to code our robots to perform from simple to tasks that are more complex.

5th & 6th Grades

In addition to covering the curriculum taught in 3rd and 4th grades, students will be introduced to our 3D printer, working in the successful design of useful, every day objects. Students have the opportunity to print their designs in our 3D printer and add their artifact to their S.T.E.A.M.portfolio.
